Meet the Cana Family

If we haven’t met, nice to meet you. We are thrilled to introduce the world to The Cana Family.

Slowly but surely as our business has developed, Drew and I have stepped back to realize that there is much more than a movie making company in the works, but a family of artists. It has always been our desire to serve and inspire people and from this desire a family has grown.

At this point there are four members of the family: Cana VP (movies), Oh The Joy (Photos) The Music of Drew Barefoot (music), and the

Cana Video Productions has always been our greatest artistic passion and has been our starting point with the family. When Drew and I partnered our businesses in 2008 we pretty much started over and asked ourselves what do we want to make. With some good advice from some friends, we began to cut away at what we had previously offered clients to eventually arrive at a product that we love to make. The early days were a time of refining and testing to help get us to this place we are at now. We hope to not stay here either, but continue to keep changing in hope of making the best movies in the industry.
Oh The Joy Photography is a new member to our family this year! We set out telling ourselves that we are a specialist in the industry and will always just make movies… until one day when a lovely couple from Idaho invited us to film their wedding with one special request to shoot their wedding photos as well. So, we set out as covert photographers to shoot it all for them. We arrived there at 530 am (the last of our three wedding weekend tour through three different states) to shoot this amazing couple’s sunrise ceremony. They had a truly beautiful morning and a beautiful wedding. We walked away from this feeling so inspired and convinced that we could continue to offer epic photos for couples that decided to invite us to make their movie as well. We are thrilled to continue this service for couples who would like both beautiful photos and movies from our family.
Andrew Barefoot is his real name and he not only shoots and edits, but writes the music for our movies. Drew’s amazing talent was first expressed when he started a hard core band called Holding onto Hope in 2003. It made perfect sense that his next best thing would be wedding music..right. This music has become the style and guide to the look of our movies. We both have a great love for nature and enjoying time away from the busy life. This music is in many ways inspired by this serenity. Drew is constantly recording and producing new music that has never ceased to blow my mind. He is a truly gifted musician and we are thrilled to offer his latest music to our clients exclusively. Drew has one album available on iTunes and has partnered with With Etiquette for those who wish to license out some of his past work. We are expecting to release a new album this winter.

The Halle Project is the last member of our family. With the partnership in 2008, a large part of our heart was to use our gifts to bless and serve people and show off the light that God is bringing to the world. With so many things already in the mix for Cana VP, it was hard to see this idea and desire actually take form with the time we had. One day while surfing with my good friend Tyler, I shared this idea of hoping to start a non-profit. He thought and prayed about this opportunity and ended up quitting his job at Al Merrick Surfboards in southern California to join the family. Since then, Tyler has led the Halle Project to come alongside ministries, churches, and non-profits all over the world with the hope of furthering their work, mission, and ultimately God’s beautiful name.
It is our honest hope that people would be inspired and served through our family. We hope to create movies, photos, and music that will continue to bless people all over the world.

Many thanks to..
